Trev won a scholarship to attend the Australian Institute of music at 15 as a young gifted guitarist to achieve his first degree. While there, he was offered the role of Doody in the Australian cast of Grease. This opened the door for numerous roles in coveted musicals such as; Noah Claypole (Oliver), Tobias Rag (Sweeney Todd), Eddie Ryan (Funny Girl), Jesus(Godspell), Peter (Jesus Christ Superstar) and Migaldi (Evita) and numerous roles in (Leader of the Pack).
While performing, Trev continued to study at the Conservatorium of Music (Newcastle Australia) majoring in classical voice, composition and conducting. After graduating with Honours he performed in Aida, Carmina Burana and Dido and Aeneas, but always felt that his heart belonged to Musical Theatre. Once he completed his degree he was offered the opportunity to musical direct ‘Bugsy Malone’. Bugsy won numerous awards and Trev went on to musical direct ‘The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas’ and ‘Guys and Dolls’.
Trev was offered the opportunity to musical direct and perform in a new musical revue called ‘Downtown’, based on the music of Petula Clarke, Dusty Springfield and Cilla Black. After Downtown’s success the producers allowed Trev to write another musical revue called ‘Straight Up Rogue’, featuring music of the Rat Pack.
While living in Japan in 2009, a sake fueled conversation inspired Trev to co-write an original musical with Glyn Semple called ‘Ignorance Is Bliss’. In 2010 they staged a concert version in Australia. ‘Ignorance is Bliss’ was entered into Mercury Musical Development in 2014 and was shortlisted from a hundred musicals to the final ten. Glyn and Trev went on to write a musical revue in 2015, for the Churchill Theatre in Bromley called ‘Smile’.
Nearly 20 years since performing the role of Migaldi in ‘Evita’, he flew to America to take over the role of Che. He returned later that year to play Clopin, in Disney’s ‘Hunchback of Notre Dame’.
In 2019 Trev and Glyn staged a concert version of their latest musical, ‘Orange Juice the Psychedelic Musical’, to packed houses in Miami.
Trev recently finished a contract performing on Norwegian Cruise Line, in a rock n roll show called ‘Syd Norman’s Pour House’, devised by Dave Gibbs, a producer of the multi award winning musical, ‘Rock of Ages’.
